A Visit to The University of Washington Slug Lab.

In the late 1990’s University of Washington zoologist Ingrith Deyrup-Olsen, (1919 - 2004) widely known for her expertise on slugs, gave me a tour of the UW Slug Lab. She explained the place of slugs in nature, and why she called slug mucus a wonderful fascinating material. She explained how the lab gets the slugs they study and why some people keep slugs as pets.
